Location: Caulfield North
Duration: 12 Weeks
Scope: Complete home renovation – Kitchen, Bathroom, Ensuite, Laundry, Timber Floors & Painting
Brief: Although the existing home had a large kitchen, it was poorly designed and outdated. The owners wanted an impressive and functional kitchen that would interact well with the connecting dining room. We incorporated the use of blue subway tiles as a feature around the kitchen range hood. There was a beautiful design detailing on the island bench waterfall, which featured a subtle combination of joinery and stone. Our highly skilled carpentry team brought to life a design idea of inlaying feature tiles in the existing timber flooring to cover areas exposed from the previous layout. The bathroom space was redesigned to accommodate an ensuite and a bathroom, to add space and value to their home. These rooms also incorporate bold and unique features, such as; curved mirrors, handmade subway tiles and sliding barn doors. The home presents well with a harmony of materials used throughout. Muted greys, whites and pops of colour bring joy when walking throughout the home.
Renovating an old kitchen, creating a new laundry and converting one old bathroom into two (an en-suite and new smaller bathroom) was never going to be an easy task. But with their great design ideas and a team of professional and respectful tradesmen GIA managed to do a fantastic job. Even when problems presented (as they usually do in updating old homes) their collaborative and thoughtful approach managed to solve all of them. We love living in our “new” home and happily recommend GIA. Thanks team.
