After graduating from RMIT University with a degree in Construction Management, Illan took the exciting step of partnering with his father, Greg, to establish GIA Renovations. This dynamic collaboration allowed Illan to leverage his expertise and passion for the industry while working alongside a seasoned professional.

With each passing year, Illan has diligently pursued opportunities to enhance his knowledge and stay at the forefront of bathroom and kitchen trends and products. His continuous learning and dedication have solidified his reputation as a trusted professional, known for his unwavering commitment to excellence and his ability to exceed clients’ expectations.

Illan’s creative flair and infectious enthusiasm shine through in every project he undertakes. Director

Greg is a Registered Building Practitioner with the Victorian Building Authority. With over thirty years of industry experience, his profound knowledge and extensive expertise supports the company in renovating homes to the highest standard. Greg’s work predominately involves project management, as well as overseeing quality control throughout the renovation process. Greg’s experience ensures that all aspects of the renovation process from concept to completion are carried out to the highest standard.

Olivia Cirocco

Design Manager

Olivia brings expertise and a thoughtful design approach to every project she works on. Known for her use of soft curves, natural materials, and custom joinery, she focuses on creating spaces that feel warm, considered, and welcoming.

Originally from Adelaide, Olivia moved to Melbourne in 2015 to join GIA Renovations. Since returning to Adelaide in 2025, she divides her time between both cities, overseeing and designing elegant, functional homes that clients will enjoy for many years. With her energy, passion, and dedication to quality, Olivia consistently delivers the distinctive interiors that set GIA Renovations apart in both Melbourne and Adelaide.

“I don’t just want to design spaces, I want to design the feeling of being at home,” Olivia told Cosentino Australia in a recent feature. This philosophy guides her work, where the best part of her job is providing beautifully crafted, custom spaces while being present throughout the entire process.

James Scully

Operations Manager

James studied Property at RMIT University where he learnt the fundamentals of construction and project management. Over the last twelve years he’s spent time working on both commercial and residential projects, working closely with all trades to gain valuable knowledge in all aspects of construction whilst honing in the skills he studied at RMIT. This has built a solid foundation for James to work with and allows him to better manage the various trades through the construction process. James prides himself on his attention to detail which is evident in the finished product of projects he’s involved with.

Construction Manager

Sam is a qualified carpenter that has been working in the construction industry for the past thirteen years, both in Australia and abroad. With over a decade of experience, Sam has gained an extensive knowledge of the residential construction space. His attention to detail and passion for construction has led him to manage a variety of projects, from architectural new builds to complete home renovations. Sam understands the importance of keeping clients informed and most of all, as excited about their project as he is. He enjoys meeting and liaising with clients on site throughout the project, always ensuring trades are working efficiently and effectively. This is yet another important aspect within a seamless renovation- one that compliments GIA’s value of providing the highest standard of customer service, workmanship and support in all stages of the renovation process. Always pushing the limits of existing spaces, Carmel excels at sourcing beautiful custom fittings and designing innovative spatial and storage solutions. After completing Bachelors and Masters of Civil Engineering in her home country Ukraine, Olha went on to work for construction companies on multi-residential and commercial projects as a site engineer. After moving to Australia, she pursued her dream and passion for interior design and completed a Diploma in Interior design and decoration at RMIT. Being detail-oriented and a problem solver, Olha loves being part of the design process. Olha’s strengths reside in her technical knowledge of how building components work together, which helps her creating comprehensive technical design documentation.

Michael Abbo

Operational Specialist

Originally from Panama City, Panama, Michael lived in Sydney for five years before recently moving to Melbourne.

Aided by my background in architecture from Panama, I transitioned to high-end residential construction in 2019 as I thoroughly enjoy bringing plans and ideas to life rather than just focusing on the design process.

With more than five years in the industry and over four of those focused on high-end residential construction, I genuinely enjoy guiding projects from start to finish. I take pride in making sure every detail aligns perfectly with the client’s vision.

Most people know me for my calm demeanor and open-minded, logical approach. I enjoy solving problems and finding efficient solutions that satisfy everyone involved. My method is all about connecting with clients and gathering as much information as possible to make sure the construction process and outcomes match their expectations.

I strive to keep my clients in the loop with regular updates and open communication, which is essential to the construction process. I also adjust project plans as needed to achieve the desired outcomes and work hard to make the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible for all stakeholders.

With over 30 years immersed in the woodworking, furniture, and joinery industry, Rob brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team. Rob embarked on his journey crafting solid timber and honing his skills in woodturning, producing exquisite one-off pieces of furniture that reflected his dedication to craftsmanship.

Rob transitioned seamlessly into modern techniques, mastering CNC programming and machining while contributing significantly to both shopfitting and residential joinery sectors. Over the last 15 years, his focus has shifted towards detailing, design, and project management of residential joinery endeavors.

Driven by an unwavering passion for high-end joinery, interior finishes, and bespoke design, Rob possesses an innate ability to blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovations. Originally from Ecuador, Diana brings a strong foundation in architecture and interior design, with a passion for residential spaces and home transformations. After completing her Architecture degree in 2018, she worked for three years as an architect in Ecuador before moving to Australia, initially for a holiday, but quickly falling in love with Melbourne and deciding to stay. With a drive to specialise further, she completed a Certificate in Interior Design and went on to work for three years at a Melbourne interior design studio, where she focused on residential design and the preparation of detailed construction documentation.

Diana combines her architectural background with her design expertise to deliver highly accurate and visually refined documentation. She thrives in collaborative environments, working closely with designers, suppliers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure every stage of the project is meticulously documented and clearly communicated.
