Scope: Ensuite, Walk in Robe & Powder room
Brief: Living in the property for over 22 years, the owners had enough of their outdated 1950’s ensuite and were ready for an upgrade. The previous owners had installed a toilet in the existing wardrobe and it just wasn’t a satisfactory solution anymore. To create the three new spaces, we had to demolish the existing ensuite and built-in robes, we also used some space from an adjoining bedroom which then became the new study. It was pivotal in the early design stage to create both an aesthetically pleasing and functional space. The client’s list of must-haves were; to create a spacious ensuite and WIR, and a luxe powder room which functioned for guests. The other must-haves were a luxurious ensuite that left the owners feeling like they were in a hotel bathroom, and enlarging the wardrobe space creating a his/her side. The marble-look porcelain tiles creates the luxe feel, while the timber veneer vanity brings warmth into the space, blending into the natural carrara marble feature wall. The new velux skylight floods the en suite with natural light. The green terrazzo feature tiles in the powder room were a last-minute addition, creating a talking point for guests and plays homage to the original 1950’s bathroom.
