Duration: 16 weeks
Scope: Complete Home Renovation/Extension – Kitchen, Bathroom, Ensuite, Powder Room, Laundry, Timber flooring, Windows & Painting.
Brief: The family home needed an update to suit the growing family of five. The brief would require structural works to re-design the en suite, powder room, bathroom, and hallway areas to improve the functional spaces & reconfigure the bedrooms. Ideally the kitchen would become functional for entertaining and connect to a larger dining area. Visually the owners wanted an interior with an abundance of natural light to accompany contrasting black joinery. The clients wanted to use textures and materials with natural qualities such as terrazzo, marble, and timbers.
Sections of the hallway and connecting rooms were demolished to increase the size of the master bathroom and ensuite. The children’s bedrooms were reconfigured to accommodate an additional powder room. To meet all the briefs requirements structural changes to the kitchen, laundry & powder room were implemented. The entry walls, and the doorways into the laundry and WC were demolished to improve the visual appearance upon entry to the kitchen space. This consequently created deeper joinery to allow for a larger fridge and a larger island bench allowing a large working space for the clients. The laundry entry was now cleverly concealed behind joinery, and served as a separate WC with direct access for the outdoor pool area and outside clothes-line. The dining room became an impressive floor to ceiling glass window extension overlooking the pool.
Visually the space is dramatic and filled with natural light and greenery. The harmony of materials and textures are the key winner creating a luxe modern industrial vibe to the entire home.
